Celebrating the life of

Robert J. Johnson

February 18, 1937 - May 23, 2015

Robert J. Johnson

Robert J. Johnson, the son of the late Jonas G. and Ella R. Johnson was born on February 18, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. He died peacefully on May 23, 2015.  He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 53 years, Edith H. Johnson who passed on June 19, 2010. Bob proudly served in the United States Navy for four years supporting the Naval Air Group, training for aircraft carrier flight operations.  While in the service he played for the all Navy baseball team.  He utilized the GI Bill to attend the University of Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics.  He remained a dedicated and passionate follower of UGA football (Go Dawgs!).

Bob sustained a very successful 35 year career with Westinghouse and served as the Acting Director of Human Resources for the entire Westinghouse Corporation during his last assignment. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Jeff & Leslie Johnson, his son Brian Johnson, and his daughter Jennifer Csernyik. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Catheryne, Courtney, Christina, Jaden and Evan.

In his 78 years, he was a loving husband, a protective and caring father, a generous “Poppy” to his grandchildren, and a faithful friend and neighbor. He will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Skidaway Island.
